A crossbow is a type of bow consisting of a horizontal limb assembly mounted on a stock that shoots projectiles, called bolts or quarrels. The medieval crossbow was called by many names, most of which derived from the word ballista, a torsion engine resembling a crossbow in appearance.
After getting hooked on the TV-show “Revolution” the crossbows got me interessted.. These weapons play a huge part in the series, and they are used to kill quite some people in the series!
These weapons can shoot arrows or ‘bolt’ as they are called officially with speeds up to 405 feet per second, (123 meter per second) or 444 KM per hour !! Bet you that will pierce right through your body..
Might look awesome to play with (probably is too) but be carefull.. one small mistake and an accident is waiting to happen..
